OWNER & DIRECTOR
Originally from Wollongong, NSW, Miss Dani has loved her work in Cobram with her students over the past 5 years of establishing League23. Now calling it home she is surrounded by amazing students that make every day a joy to teach.
Over the past 5 years Miss Dani has built League23 to be an uplifting, encouraging space for students to learn and explore dance among the many benefits of dance. In 2021 we introduced our students to the local competition circuit in troupes, duos and solos and have had an overwhelming response from parents and dancers on their experience attending competitions with League23. In addition to being able to perform, League23 have been recipients of many awards in their sections, representing our local area and being recognised for all the hard work the students put into their sport.
Miss Dani has been trained in all styles of dance (including; Musical Theatre, Ballroom and Latin) and prides herself on being a versatile teacher throughout all genres. Her passion is in the realm of commercial dance and choreography for performance; especially jazz and lyrical, however she is able to teach all forms of dance, striving to better her knowledge with consistent research, training courses and development of dance choreography styles to remain up to date with what is current within dance. Miss Dani thrives on bettering her craft to benefit every student she teaches, regardless of ability.
In 2018 Miss Dani was Co-Director of one of the leading Dance Schools in the South Coast Region NSW, SCIPA School of Dance. It was here that she choreographed and taught multiple routines that competed, and won, at National competitions - DanceLife Unite and Follow Your Dreams. With an overwhelming positive response to her choreography and teaching methods she was able to develop lifelong friendships, have amazing achievements and create unforgettable memories for the dancers under her tuition.
Miss Dani was trained by one of the leading choreographers in the country, Sher Manu (Shers Studio of Modern Dance, SYTYCD, Australian Dance Festival) one of many outstanding teachers she has had and has competed at a national level in both troupe and solo categories up until her late teens. She believes that this is where her love for competition began, and the love for choreographing routines (solo, duo & troupe) to perform in a competitive setting. Like all dancers, Miss Dani owes everything she has learned to the amazing teachers she has had on her journey in dance and aspires everyday to be just as wonderful as her teachers were. In her days of teaching now, she often recalls the life lessons that her teachers instilled on her from a young age and is so grateful at the effort, innovation, passion, energy and life lessons that she was taught from her role models.
Thank you to Carly, Miss Linda, Miss Joanne, Miss Nirvana, Miss Cassie, Sher, Rachael, Lyndsay & Leanne to name a few in the many.
Studying under the Glenn Wood Tap Syllabus, Miss Dani completed each of her exams with marks averaging 98% and a 99% for her Level 11 Exam. She was taught Classical Ballet RAD Syllabus, where she completed examinations up to an Advanced 1 Level with marks reaching Distinction. Most recently, after learning gymnastics at an early age, Miss Dani has completed the Acrobatic Arts teachers course, qualifying and certifying her to teach this syllabus through League23, exploring gymnastic skills through dance.
Upon relocating to Melbourne Miss Dani attended the Showfit Musical Theatre Full-time Course, where she was introduced to multiple industry professionals and grew in her personal journey of performance. Before discovering her love for teaching, Miss Dani aspired to study and perform in Musical Theatre, performing in a number of amateur shows and concerts throughout NSW and Victoria including; Guys and Dolls, Treasure Island, Hercules and choreographing for musicals; Working, Happy Days the Musical and Beauty and the Beast with a number of different schools and amateur theatre companies. Most recently, Miss Dani choreographed and volunteered with the Numurkah Singers to choreograph for their 60th Anniversary Show held in 2023.
In alignment with her dance journey, Miss Dani also completed vocal training from a young age from two of the leading vocal coaches in the Wollongong region (Mary Gansl - Ambitions: the Arts of Entertainment & Charmaine Gibbs - Charmaine Gibbs Studios), before moving to Melbourne and continuing her vocal training. Ranging from Pop to Jazz and Musical Theatre, her versatility in vocals matches her level of dance ability. She competed in vocal competitions at a local and national level with outstanding results, performed for numerous charity events, performed back-up vocals, participated in many amateur theatre musical theatre works, performances and no matter how big or small, took pride in any performance opportunity that came her way.
ADMIN & OFFICE
Miss Tanya will be a regular and familiar face around League23. She will be assisting with admin and will be the main face in the office during class hours.
Being a 'dance mum' to not just Miss Dani but her son Joey (Australian Ballet Company from 2018), Tanya is full of knowledge and has many years of competitions, concerts, performances, shows, you name it, under her belt. Miss Dani is so thrilled to have Miss Tanya on board with League23 and truly believes that her expertise and experience in so many areas will help the studio continue to grow.
Tanya is also an Enrolled Nurse and is always available for medical attention if needed on the premises.
DANCE TEACHER
Miss Lucy has been working alongside Miss Dani in a student teaching position and in 2021 began teaching her own classes. She has a wonderful way of bringing out the best in her students and she lightens up the room with her positive attitude, dancers always leaving their classes with a smile.
Miss Lucy is a certified teacher with Acrobatic Arts and carries this into her classes. She is a gifted Jazz & Lyrical teacher and you will see her around the studio regularly with our Recreational classes throughout the week. Miss Lucy is so excited to be starting junior soloists and duos this year into her class load and we can't wait to see the amazing work she does with her students.
Miss Lucy has been dancing from a young age and always brings her experience into the classroom. We are so excited to have Miss Lucy on board this year and another great year of dance.
STUDENTS TEACHER / DANCE TEACHER
Miss Mia has been dancing with League23 from 2020 and we can truly say that she is loved by all of her students and fellow teachers. Mia started her teaching as a student teacher under Miss Lucy, further to Miss Dani and now takes on so many of her own classes with her positive attitude, encouraging nature and we always see so many improvements from our dancers under her care.
This year Miss Mia will be starting her own private lessons for competitions alongside the 8/U Competition Troupe and she is so excited to get started.
