ACRO LEVELS
Acro classes are grouped according to skill level to ensure that every student is in a class that best suits their abilities. This allows each dancer to develop safely, build confidence, and progress at a pace tailored to them. Age groups and skill requirements are outlined below. If you’re unsure, it’s always best to start at the lower level—Miss Dani can move students up once they are ready. Students may also change levels throughout the year as they master the skills required for the next stage, ensuring continual growth and development in a supportive environment. A dancer may be in a different level to work on some of their core skills : they may be able to Back Handspring but struggle to do a Walkover - these students will also be given opportunities in their level to practice their harder skills in class.
BEGINNER LEVELS: Level 1 Acro (For Petites & Minis) & Level 3 Acro (For Junior +)
No required skills needed, students work on their introductory skills working towards their Handstand to Bridge, Standing to Bridge and Kickovers.
INTERMEDIATE LEVELS: Level 2 Acro (For Petites & Minis) & Level 4 Acro (For Junior +)
Must be able to (or close to) Handstand to Bridge, Standing to Bridge and Kickovers. Working towards aerial work, walkovers and introductory Handsprings.
ADVANCED LEVELS: Level 5 Acro
Must be able to Side Aerial, Front & Back Walkovers, Knees to Bridge and Arabians. Working towards or can already: Back Handspring, Back Tuck & Front Aerial. Students are invited to join Level 5 acro.
At League23, all dancers are welcome, regardless of ability or experience. Our classes bring together recreational and competition team dancers, focusing on building skills and technique in the style of your choice. We work hard, but we also have fun through learning and improving. Every dancer is encouraged to grow at their own pace, celebrate their progress, and enjoy the journey—because here, every student’s effort and passion is valued and supported.
MORE CLASSES?
If you would like more classes (or more classes in a certain genre) and take all the classes in your age group please speak with our team and we can put together a schedule for you.
COMPETITION TEAM
Being part of a League23 Competition Team is an exciting adventure! Our dancers get the chance to perform amazing routines, travel to competitions, and be part of a close-knit, fun-loving dance family. Miss Dani carefully selects dancers based on skill, dedication, and improvement, ensuring each team is balanced and every dancer has the opportunity to shine.
If a dancer isn’t selected straight away, it doesn’t mean they won’t be in the future. New students are encouraged to let Miss Dani & Miss Tanya know; they may join our Competition Elite classes to prepare for troupe and be considered for the next opportunity.
Teams are organised by age and ability, and some dancers may even dance up an age group. This year, we’re thrilled to introduce new troupes in some new styles, giving dancers even more chances to perform, grow, and have fun.
Competition Team members are committed to weekly classes, rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and competitions (including regional and statewide events). While participation requires dedication, it’s incredibly rewarding. Our dancers build friendships, develop confidence, and have been awarded and accomplished at many competitions—experiencing the joy of performing and celebrating their achievements together!
COMPETITION TEAM FEES & DISCOUNT BUNDLES
Those in competition team have a much heavier class load than recreational students. We offer ‘competition team bundles’ to ease the cost of being involved for families wishing to take part. Please contact us for information on the Competition Team Bundle Discount.
If you are interested in joining a competition team please contact us via email to express your interest. For further information on the required classes for each age group to be eligible for competition troupe please see the Enrolment Handbook attachment.
PRIVATE LESSONS
Private lessons give dancers one-on-one time with a teacher to focus on their individual growth and performance skills. These lessons are tailored to a dancer’s ability, dedication, and potential, allowing for personalised guidance and attention.
At League23, private lessons are primarily used for competition preparation, including solos, duos, and trios. Students work closely with their teacher to perfect choreography, refine technique, and build confidence for performance. This focused environment allows dancers to make rapid progress, explore challenging movements safely, and bring their best to the stage.
Private lessons are by invitation only, selected by Miss Dani / League23 Staff, and are reserved for competition team members.
HOW TO READ THE TIMETABLE
We have colour coded and labelled our timetable with each age group for your convenience. Once you know what age group your child will be in, you can select any and as many classes as you would like to join. If you have any questions choosing what class genre you would like to start with please let us know and we can help find the perfect class for you.
